About 100 Dundalk Drive — Kennedy Place Condos
Kennedy Place Condos is a 10 storey mid-rise development in the Dorset Park neighbourhood, home to 157 suites. The building is located at 100 Dundalk Dr — a quiet side street, that’s only minutes from a substantial business development on Kennedy Rd.
The building was completed back in 1976, but the tower’s age has done little to curb demand. Perhaps it’s the convenient location that has made 100 Dundalk Dr such a draw for prospective buyers — it could also be the excellent amenities; saunas, a recreation room, a fitness centre, tennis courts, a kid’s playground, parking, and visitor parking.
Condo fees hover around the neighbourhood average, and price per square foot is typically below the Dorset Park average. Whether you’re a first time buyer searching for Toronto condos for sale or someone who’s looking to downsize in a convenient location, there’s plenty to appreciate at Kennedy Place Condos.
The Suites
As with any condo residence from the 70s and 80s, there’s potential for dated features here. While some units have seen considerable upgrades, others are reminiscent of older apartments, and feature closed off galley kitchens, and dated appliances. Of course, for investors, this could be music to their ears, but for buyers seeking something move-in ready, it could be best to move on.
Suites at 100 Dundalk Drive are quite large — units begin at 732 square feet and can reach up to 1299 for the largest homes in the building. Most units have hardwood or laminate flooring, with ceramic tiles in bathrooms. All units have large private balconies, and ample storage.
The Neighbourhood
Dorset Park is a narrow Scarborough neighbourhood, bounded to the north by the 401. Its commuter friendly location has made it popular for car owners who work in the city, but it’s easy to forget that this neighbourhood has a lot more to offer than just a nearby highway.
Residents of 100 Dundalk Drive are within walking distance of a wide selection of retailers and restaurants. There’s Tripper's Kitchen for takeout, Green, Black & Gold Queen's Kitchen for Jamaican cuisine; Sunset Grill serves all day breakfast, and cafes like CoCo Fresh Tea & Juice provide an alternative to the usual coffee spots.
Specialized shops and boutiques are sprinkled throughout the area, for everything from home building supplies to furniture stores and clothing boutiques. On weekends there’s Common Good Beer Co for craft ales, and cozy local watering holes like Shot House Bar & Grill.
Families have nearby schools and daycares, and Glamorgan Park is only minutes away from the building — for playgrounds, sports fields, and picnics.
Transportation
Kennedy Place Condos provides a walkable location where residents can run some errands on foot; Kennedy Commons is within a 5 minute walk for groceries at Metro. However, a vehicle or public transit will be required from time to time.
Public transit service can be patchy in the area; the closest bus stops are situated on Kennedy Rd, but portions of the neighbourhood lack a dedicated route. Fortunately, residents can walk to Ellesmere station in roughly 15 minutes — about the same amount of time it takes on the bus.
Car owners have it easy — as there’s an on-ramp for the 401 just 2 minutes away on Kennedy Rd.
