About 2 Fieldway Road — Network Lofts
While some Torontonians truly live in the centre of downtown Toronto; others may live in North York or even as far as Burlington or Oshawa. While the boundaries may be foggy depending on whom you speak to, today the Greater Toronto Area certainly reaches much farther than the City of Toronto itself.
And if anyone doubts whether Etobicoke is similar to the rest of Toronto, the Network Lofts are here to prove them wrong. Located at 2 Fieldway Road, near the major intersection of Bloor and Islington, these Toronto lofts provide urban homes to those living just outside of the downtown core.
Similar to a number of the conversions found throughout the city proper, the homes at 2 Fieldway are authentic hard lofts. Carved from the frame of an existing office building, Alterra & Finner Space Corporation are the masterminds behind this west-end renovation.
On top of all of the amenities that a young professional or metropolitan family might require of their home, the Network Lofts offer a great value for one’s hard earned money — these lofts are relatively more affordable due to their distance from downtown. Additionally, the placement of this tower offers views of a slightly distinctive perspective, with the entire cityscape in view from the Network Lofts.
Amenities for residents include everything from a gym and yoga studio, to a party and meeting room, movie theatre, rooftop lounge with barbecues, guest suites, and even a concierge service working ‘round the clock.
The Suites
With just over 200 units spread out amongst 13 storeys of concrete, glass, and steel, the Network Lofts offer plenty of options for residents of differing lifestyles to inhabit. Sizes range from around 550 to 1,750 square feet, and each one feels spacious as ever due to the heavy use of glass paired with open concept layouts. And because Etobicoke condos for sale are generally more affordable than those in downtown Toronto, buyers can save some money here as well.
Those compromising on location when opting for a home here won’t have to bargain in terms of style. For example, large concrete columns provide support as well as that authentic loft look. Space is yet another benefit provided to residents living at 2 Fieldway Road — living areas and bedrooms are expansive and roomy compared to the average condo.
Perhaps the most striking of all, though, are the towering ceiling heights. Certain mezzanine style units even boast double height windows that reach up to the very top of the 19-foot ceilings. Plus, those residents lucky enough to score corner units are granted panoramic views through multiple walls of made completely of glass.
The Neighbourhood
The Network Lofts are located in Islington & City Centre West, a residential area known for its myriad of hand painted murals that illustrate the history of the area. Along Dundas Street West, an eclectic mix of restaurants are sure to satiate any craving, from Italian to Korean and even fish n’ chips.
Located directly beside Kenway Park, residents are never lacking in green space to explore. For an even larger outdoor area, Tom Riley Park features a lawn bowling club, a pool and health club, tennis courts, and more. The Islington Golf Club is yet another option for those who prefer golf carts to hiking shoes.
For some good old retail therapy, Sherway Gardens is a quick drive or bus ride away, and plays host to more than 200 shops. Otherwise, restaurants, shops, and bars line Bloor Street West near Islington. Here, residents can also benefit from the Goodlife Fitness and Service Ontario, while Ikea is also just down the street.
Transportation
While slightly removed from the centre of downtown Toronto, the lofts are still located on the Bloor-Danforth subway line. Islington station can be reached in minutes from 2 Fieldway Road, and a bus stop at Bloor and Green Lanes is just seconds from the front doors of the Network Lofts as well.
Car owners can ride along Bloor Street to access to downtown core. Kipling and Islington are also ideal arterial roads that carry drivers south to Lake Ontario or north to the 401. Alternatively, the 427 and the Gardiner Expressway are a couple of other fast-paced routes that provide access to all areas of Toronto, as well as toward neighbouring cities.
From 2 Fieldway Road, Pearson International Airport is only a 15-minute ride away, making those much-needed vacations within even closer reach for residents of the lofts. As well, the Kipling GO Transit station allows residents to hop on a bus or a train for getaways a little closer to Toronto.
