About 20 Gladstone Avenue — Twenty Lofts
Owning a loft at 20 Gladstone Avenue doesn’t just mean having a space to sleep at night. By purchasing one of the units at the Twenty Lofts, you're also entitled to the key to a mini city of sorts. As the fifth and final component of Streetcar Development’s pursuit of Queen Street West, the Twenty Lofts offers owners of this modern soft loft access to a rare range of amenities.
To begin, entertaining is never an issue. The building features a terrace on the roof equipped with barbecues and ample space to eat, as well as an indoor party lounge and guest suites. In order to maintain a balanced lifestyle, there is also a gym for the morning after said dinner parties.
On the ground floor, the five buildings share access to shopping and amenities by way of a pedestrian and cyclist friendly “row,” meaning neighbours have a chance to meet other than those brief encounters in the hallways. With seven storeys, over 100 units, and plentiful places to cross paths, the chances of meeting the love of your life or a new best friend are at an all time high.
To top it all off, groceries are just an elevator ride away at the Metro located just downstairs.
The Suites
Aesthetically as well as conceptually, the building is contemporary, sleek, and innovative. TACT Architecture chose a collage of atypical materials for the Twenty Lofts:
Columns and 9-foot ceilings are comprised of exposed concrete, while entry to the bedrooms is provided via sliding glass — frosted for privacy, of course. Terracotta, metal, and steel, are also commonly found throughout the building.
The average size of a unit at 20 Gladstone Avenue is somewhere between 600 and 700 square feet, making this a spot sure to attract young professionals seeking Toronto condos for sale, whether individually or in pairs. Energy efficient windows will also win the hearts of financially savvy and environmentally friendly millennials alike.
The Neighbourhood
With its Queen and Gladstone location, inhabitants of 20 Gladstone will have to make a recurrent choice between using the building’s amenities and hitting the town.
Technically inside the borders of the mainly residential Little Portugal, the Twenty Lofts proximity to South Parkdale and Liberty Village afford infinite options for nightlife and entertainment. The Drake and The Gladstone are technically hotels, but both regularly host parties and events not to be missed. Plus, the 24-hour security provided by the Twenty Lofts adds some additional incentive for staying out until last call.
As for daytime activities, art galleries, modish boutiques, and Instagram worthy brunch spots dot West Queen West, an area named the world’s second coolest by Vogue in 2014. Foodies can also walk over to the Ossington Strip, a stretch of the street known for lodging the latest in culinary undertakings.
Transportation
The loft is steps away from the 24-hour Queen streetcar service, as well as multiple buses heading in other directions. Billy Bishop Airport is easily reached by TTC, as well as Union station, providing access to VIA Rail, Go Transit, and the UP service to Pearson International Airport.
The Gardiner Expressway is also nearby. Those with cars can easily travel across the southern end of Toronto, or merge onto major highways to the East or the West for travel beyond the city’s borders.
