About 5-35 Elsie LaneBrownstones on Wallace Condos

Following the success of the Brownstones on Bloor, Montevallo Developments created similarly styled homes at 5-35 Elsie Lane and 351 Wallace Avenue, in the Dovercourt & Wallce Emerson-Junction neighbourhood. For anyone seeking spacious suites in a friendly neighbourhood — think people actually smiling and waving at the mailman — the Brownstones on Wallace surely deliver.

This master-planned community at 5-35 Elsie and 351 Wallace celebrated its grand opening in 2007 with Burka Architects overseeing its timeless architecture. While the Brownstones on Bloor stand at only 2-storeys high, these stacked townhouses showcase a surprising quantity of expansive windows and generous outdoor patios and terraces.

Unsurprisingly, these traditional buildings along 5-35 Elsie and 351 Wallace were built with carefully selected, top-quality materials: brick makes up the base of the edifices, with lighter tones elegantly framing the deep, resolute maroon facade — a classic aesthetic that will grow even more charming over time.

Thanks to the ample space between the Brownstones on Wallace’s buildings, there’s an abundance of green space throughout the complex, planted with some trees that are already quite grand. This open space feels refreshing, and is uncommon for many residents living in any of the city’s denser developments. While these condos don’t feature as many amenities as others, this keeps maintenance costs low for residents, making Toronto condos for sale here a great choice for families on a budget.

    The Suites

5-35 Elsie and 351 Wallace are made up of 134 spacious townhouses, which range in size from approximately 850 to 1,350 square feet. The suites either feature 2 bedrooms plus a den or 3 bedrooms, and span 2- or 3-storeys each. Regardless, the Brownstones on Wallace’s efficient floor plans feel quite comfortable, and every suite’s living space extends even further outside, onto either a rooftop deck or patio.

Inside, the suites’ impressive fixtures and finishes create a sophisticated, classically cosmopolitan aesthetic. The kitchens feature stainless steel appliances, granite countertops and stylish ceramic backsplashes. Throughout the suites’ primary areas, elegant oak flooring can be found, as well as stair railings and pickets made of the same material. These wood accents enrich the atmosphere of the suites, providing natural vibrancy that’s accentuated by the light that flows in through their many windows.

    The Neighbourhood

Residents of the Brownstones on Wallace live in a very attractive neighbourhood courtesy of the well-established community. There are many schools, parks and playgrounds for prospective homeowners with children in the family. And residents can grab inexpensive groceries at a FreshCo around the corner on Dundas West Street, which is about about five minutes away. There’s also a Shoppers even closer on Dundas West, for when essentials run low.

The Junction - West End is renowned for its eclectic offerings, from rare and vintage finds to creatively crafted goods. A short walk away from the Brownstones on Wallace, around the intersection of Dundas West and Keele Street, there seems to be a café or pub with its own roaster or microbrewery at every corner, with many boutiques and restaurants in between.

Additionally, 5-35 Elsie and 351 Wallace are just north of Roncesvalles, another neighbourhood with enticing retail and restaurant options. And, High Park is also only about a fifteen-minute walk or a ten-minute drive away.

    Transportation

Residents of the Brownstone on Wallace are well positioned to travel around the city with ease. Not only do they live in a friendly, residential neighbourhood, but they’re close to great public transit options as well.

There’s a TTC Bus stop a few minutes away at Dundas West and Glenlake Avenue. Those living at 5-35 Elsie and 351 Wallace can use this bus in order to ride down to Dundas West station and transfer onto the Bloor-Danforth subway line. And on the rare occasion the bus is untimely, Dundas West Station is also only around a ten-minute walk away.

Additionally, on Bloor Street close to Perth Avenue is a station where the Union Pearson Express makes a stop before heading toward the airport. The UP Express takes travelers from the Junction Triangle to Pearson International exceptionally fast — under twenty-five minutes, to be precise.

Finally, those who drive are close to major roadways like Bloor Street and Dundas, whose traffic usually moves well throughout the city. When traffic cooperates, drivers can connect to the highway in about ten minutes: they need only to head south, where they can hop onto the Gardiner Expressway from Jameson Avenue.
