Joe Shuster Way (named after the famed co-creator of Superman) is a tree-lined and quiet street, especially in contrast to the bustling streets to the north and south that are some of Toronto’s best for eating, dining and shopping. The Fuzion Condos is also surrounded by great neighborhoods to the west like Parkdale, Liberty Village, and King West.
Built in 2013, the Fuzion Condos have a façade of metal, glass, concrete, plus distinct orange accents on each side of the building. There is also convenient retail on space the ground floor. Best of all, residents will also have access to a long list of amenities, including a gym, a concierge desk, resident and guest parking garage, guest suites, a party room, a pool with a hot tub and steam room, a billiards room and a lounge.
The Suites
The Fuzion Condos holds 245 units over 14 storeys, with homes ranging in size from around from just over 400 square feet to about 830 square feet. They come with 1-2 bedrooms and bathrooms each, and spaces are smartly designed with open concepts and floor-to-ceiling windows, resulting in warm and bright atmospheres in most rooms.
Almost all the suites at 20 Joe Shuster Way have a balcony with glass doors, leading to great views of the lake and Exhibition Place grounds to the south, or the green residential streets of Little Portugal to the north. Floors are finished with laminate wood, and kitchens have tile backsplashes, granite countertops, and modern cabinetry with incorporated stainless-steel appliances.
Bathrooms are finished with ceramic tiles in the showers, and porcelain tubs and sinks. The suites also have ensuite laundry for residents. And with prices that are below those of most condos for sale in Toronto, buyers can expect to save some money on their next home.
The Neighbourhood
One of the best aspects of the Fuzion Condos is that it sits so close to a number of exciting areas, while remaining somewhat secluded on Joe Shuster Way. This gives residents the privacy and quiet that is quite rare of downtown condominium living. Plenty of hip restaurants and bars can be found on King and West Queen West, as well as fun shops, gyms, coffee shops, and the requisite errand-running locations like banks, drug stores, and grocery stores.
Nightlife around King and Queen West is popular, thanks to venues like the Drake Hotel, a perfect spot for eating, drinking or even seeing a live concert. Sports fans living at 20 Joe Shuster way are also in luck thanks to their close proximity to Lamport Stadium, as well as BMO Field and the Ricoh Coliseum. And of course, residents live just a short walk away from the CNE, and the Budweiser Stage on the lake.
A number of parks are close to Fuzion Condos, including Trinity Bellwoods Park, known for its farmers markets, movie nights, and art fairs. Even closer are smaller parks such as Lisgar Park, Marilyn Bell Park, or McCormick Park. Several schools also serve the area, including St. Helen Catholic School, Parkdale Junior and Senior Public School, and Alexander Muir/Gladstone Avenue Junior and Senior Public School.
Transportation
Residents will have no trouble moving around town or getting to work on time. This section of the west end isn’t known to have the same traffic problems as other downtown areas (yet), and a number of TTC routes service the area: streetcars or buses on Dufferin, King and Queen Streets are ready to take residents wherever they need to go. Alternatively, drivers living at 20 Joe Shuster Way can easily access the Gardiner Expressway via Jameson Avenue or Dufferin Street.
